Holiday Season at Parkside

The holidays are a special time around Parkside with dinners, parties, caroling and many events! In November and December we have several special events planned. First we will start the holiday season by celebrating and thanking all local veterans with a complimentary luncheon on Veterans day, November 11.

Each year we host our annual Family Thanksgiving dinner on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. This is a day where we invite the residents and their families to a down-home Thanksgiving dinner with all of the trimmings.  This year we will have the Tabor College softball team helping us serve the residents.

The Tabor College Women’s Soccer team will help us bring in the Christmas season by helping us deck the halls! We have been blessed with partnerships with Hillsboro Schools and Tabor College, allowing us to host many inter-generational activities.

This year we are honored to be a part of the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce event “A Down-Home Christmas on December 3. We will be hosting a children’s craft event at Bluejay Lanes starting at 9 am – 2 pm.

On December 5 from 5-7 pm we will host our annual Christmas Open House at Parkside. This is an opportunity for the community to visit Parkside, learn about our many services and sample soups and tasty treats. This year we encourage all of our visitors and family to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Marion County Food Bank.

We have many special musical programs planned throughout the months of November and December. We love it when church groups come to carol and share their talents with the residents. If your group is interested in coming in to carol, we ask that you contact Penni Funk, Director of Life Enrichment to schedule a time.
